Chain Colour Change
This technique changes the colour of the base chain.
1. When colour changing on a row, ch one less than stated in that colour. i.e., if you need to ch 5 yellow stitches, stop at ch 4. This is because the loop on your hook will form the next coloured chain.

3. If this is the last colour change, then you will need to sc 1 more in the new colour than stated, as the first ch made was actually the last ch in the original colour. i.e., if you need 5 yellow ch, ch 6 in yellow, as the first ch is actually the 5th blue ch.
2. To change colour, hold both the start of the new colour and end of the original colour, then yarn over with the new colour. If changing colour again, simply count the stated ch (this is because the first ch is actually the last ch from the original colour). i.e., if you need to ch 5 blue after yellow, change colour ch 5 with new colour.
Thus, to chain a base chain of 5 yellow, 5 blue and 5 yellow you need to count 4 yellow ch, then 5 blue ch, then 6 yellow (assuming you always count the first ch when changing colour as that coloured stitch).
