Spike Stitch (spst)

This technique creates a spike stitch (spst) made from ch 3, a dc or tr and sc 3 for the Cameron the Crayfish Pattern

1. To make the spst first ch 3.​​​​

2. For spst for the rest of the pattern:

Make a FLO dc into the previous stitch you just did (not the next st of the previous row). This will mean the spst will not be counted as a st in the total stitch counter.

2. For spst on the tail:

Make a dc stitch into the next stitch on the row. (you can make this a tr stitch if you want the spike a little bigger)

3. Work 3 sc through the initial ch 3, going around the dc so the dc is stitched overtop of it.
